Devon Energy Volunteer Spotlight
Volunteer of the Quarter:
Lela Leitch
Devon
Lela Leitch

Barely a Tuesday goes by in Urban Harvest without help from Volunteer Captain Lela Leitch. She’s always happy to shovel, weed, sort, sift and check on the bees.  Lela’s put in more than 100 volunteer hours this year alone! She says, “Urban Harvest is a great program because there are kids in need who’ve never had fresh fruit, like a strawberry, before.”  We agree, Lela!  Thanks for your help! Watch a video from Lela

Volunteer Group of the Quarter:
Red Rock Behavioral Health Services
Devon
Red Rock

This group from Red Rock BHS has been volunteering every week since this summer.  Even though they’re a relatively new group to the Regional Food Bank, these folks bring contagious enthusiasm every time they come. They always focus on the details of each task they perform and some have even been known to sing as they work.  Thanks for fighting hunger with a smile, Red Rock!

A Few New Faces
Volunteer Center Staff

Just in time for the holidays!  From left to right: Stephen Gaudreau, Tyler Davis and Stephen Grzybowski have all joined our staff.  Tyler, a new full-time volunteer coordinator, declares his love for this work because of his desire to "give back to the community...it's all about service.”  Both of our Stephen G's are with us for the holiday season, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the extra hands!

Every Volunteer An Advocate!
Advocate

We’re blessed with a lot of friends who find time to come and volunteer.  Imagine the force for change if each volunteer were also an advocate!  Help us spread the word about local hunger issues and advocate for legislation that will help fight hunger.  It’s neither as difficult nor as scary as it might sound.  Sign up to receive updated information and easy tips on how to reach out to your elected officials.
